Miss Kitty - ADOPTED!

Miss Kitty is an owner surrender.  She is a sweet seven year old lap cat with a lot of spunk and play in her.   Her previous housemate who was the first cat in the house bullied her.  She is a little traumatized by that and was suspicious of cats as a result.  She has come around with my 10 year old Pepper.   She also did pretty well with another foster male who basically ignored her.  If they respect her boundaries, she is fine with other cats.  She probably should go to a home without other cats or someone with a very laid back cat with an experienced owner so that bullying is NOT tolerated.  If you are interested in her please email me at crlwsmn@gmail.com or post comment to facebook or comment here.

Get me away from those kittens! or
I can see the world from here and I'm happy
June 29 - Miss Kitty was adopted today.  She'll have a 13 yr old sibling who might be missing their other cat that died of cancer.  She's going to love the place.  A screened in porch and lots of room to play.  She'll take a little adjustment but I'm confident she'll do fine. The other cat is a muted calico who has a calm submissive personality and I think Miss Kitty will learn quickly that she can have her way and she won't be bossed around.  I'm confident this is THE home for her.

June 4 - I confined Miss Kitty last night because of her behavior.  This morning I let her out.  I don't think she learned anything LOL.  Prada followed her around a little and was greeted with hissing.   Of course Prada backed off.  MK then jumped up out of reach.  The kittens got yummy Fancy Feast and MK wanted it.  So she came down and then hissed as she passed by them in close proximity.  I put a bowl down for her about 2 feet away from the kittens.  The kittens were buried in their own bowls.  Prada finished and headed over to MK.  About 1 foot away MK noticed, sounded the warning and ran out of reach. Prada did at one point get pretty close and MK swiped at her and ran off.  MK is now in one of her favorite spots out of reach of the kittens.  We'll see if she learns to adjust.  I'm going to have two more kittens for her to "play" with.  I'll be taking them to Petco and she'll have a couple of nights with them sharing HER space.  She isn't too old to learn and to adjust as she did adjust to Pepper.   Miss Kitty enjoyed some time on my lap.  A kitten passed by - she hissed and I spanked her.  hmm...  She stopped and didn't go anywhere.   9:11 she has jumped down and the kittens are now on my lap.  how nice.

June 3 - I now have the Suits litter and Miss Kitty is growling and hissing when they just want to say
Suits Litter
hi.  She can be such a party pooper.

May 31 Fenway got adopted at tractor Supply.  June 1 - Camden got adopted at Petco.  Wrigley - a B/W Tuxedo with some white holes in his suit still needs to be adopted.

May 25, 2014
The three ballparks went to Petco but it was really slow.  None were adopted.  They came home and played for a while.  Tried to get Miss Kitty to play but no dice.  I did give her clavamox.  yuck but since she won't eat all the canned with it mixed it I decided to give it directly.  She knew something was up but I got it in her.

Kittens and Miss Kitty out together.  At least one tried to play with her.  Camden when right in the cage with her in there.  Shocked her I think.  What audacity of this you whippersnapper.  He followed her around a while then she hissed and found a high perch so she could watch these babies from a distance.

Wrigley and Camden

The ballpark litter is now with me.  M said that Miss Kitty welcomed them by hissing at them.  I haven't seen them yet but will very shortly.  Later she was fine with them mostly ignoring them.  The neighbor kids came and played with the kittens for a little while.  Miss Kitty was out and about but keeping her distance which was fine with me.  After they left she expected to have some lap time with me and was rudely given her first dose of clavamox of 14.  2x a day for 7 days.  She took it as well as could be expected but she might not trust me to sit on my lap?  I was so so subtle LOL.  she didn't know what hit her except for yucky stuff.

May 23, 2014
Miss Kitty is going to be with me another 2 weeks - at least.  Potential adopter is going to wait until she gets back from a trip.  Miss Kitty will be off her antibiotics by then too.   I was looking forward to a horse back riding and meeting the horses but I have lots I can do if I stay home.  We don't hold cats so if I do get a call in response to Petfinder or Facebook ad then she might have that option or a home before D comes back from her trip.

May 22, 2014
Urine test came back this morning.  No bacteria but some inflamed cells.  Recommendation - a round of antibiotics. 3 options - pills, liquid or shot.  Dr did not recommend shot so the easiest to administer is liquid which can just be added to canned food.  She has to be on it for 14 days.   I wonder if she and I will be going to Gloucester on Saturday.  Still waiting for a call or FB post.

May 21, 2014
Miss Kitty had a busy day.  She visited Rogers and got checked out and a urine sample taken with a syringe through her abdomen into her bladder.  I've never seen them do that before.  She was very cooperative with everything.  Almost at the JRB coming back and I realized the rabies certificate that I had just looked at was dated 5/20/2013.  I went back to An Clinic of Eagle Harbor and waited and waited until they could give her both rabies and FVCRP.  Back home.  She was happy to be let out as she'd been in carrier quite a while.  Such a trooper.  Her official birthday is now 5/21/2007 as I couldn't find any paperwork with a birthday and her rabies tag in 2013 had her aged at 6.    I'll find out the results of urine test tomorrow.  If it is suspicious they'll do a culture which will take longer.   I hope everything is good so she can go to Gloucester on Saturday.  Miss Kitty in her carrier was fine with the dogs who said hello at the vet and didn't react to any of them except a big great dane.  All of that is optimistic for her new home.

May 20, 2014
One of the cage cleaners noticed that she had peed out of the box at Petsmart.  UTI.  Back in garage and I haven't seen a problem.  I have a possible home for her so we decided to make sure.  I tried for over 24 hrs to get a pee sample in a litter box with NSORB and previously paper litter but she wouldn't cooperate.  She did go later in the evening or overnight to the 5/21 in regular litter.  Decided to get urine test done to make sure she is okay before she goes to a potential adopter in Gloucester.

May 17, 2014
Miss Kitty is back in my garage.  She wanted just to investigate and after investigating and running around for a while she was ready for some loving and jumped on my lap.  I decided I wanted a good picture.  She had jumped off so I tried picked her up and here is the pretty bad selfie I took.  She doesn't look TOO happy because she didn't take the initiative to jump up.  she was up and down multiple times.

May 6, 2014
Miss Kitty is back at Petsmart.  I visited her yesterday.  Due to time limits I didn't let her out of the cage but I did love on her in the cage.  She did settle down but initially all she wanted was to get out of the cage.  Yesterday I called the gal who adopted Socks thinking she might know some senior interested in a cat - either Miss Kitty or Tigger.  But after this morning Tigger might not be good with an elderly.  I'm going to visit the adopter of Socks now Nikko soon.

April 14, 2014
What is better than one cat in bed with you?  Two.  Pepper started out in bed with me next to me - one his favorite spots as I'll be petting him first thing when I wake up.  He got up at some point and left then Miss Kitty joined me.  Pepper came back and reclaimed his spot.  Miss Kitty was initially a little wary but got over it.  It took her a little coaxing to come up to get petted on the other side of me so I was petting both at the same time on either side of me.  wonderful!

April 13, 2014 2:30 pm
I put a harness on MK.   Will she get it off?   She was on my lap a while ago and verbally protested when I decided I needed to get up and do something.  She needs her nails clipped and I went to get the nail clippers.  I might need to wrap her in a towel to do them.  She hasn't had a lot of experience with getting her nails clipped.  They aren't too too long but they are sharp.  She has pretty good nail control but sitting on my lap I could feel her nails.  She seems to be fine with the harness and is lying on the bed.  She just gave my hand a thorough bath.  A very sweet cat.  I hope that her forever home shows up soon.

April 13, 2014
This morning Pepper and MK both were on the bed with me.  Pepper had claimed it last night and MK slept on a chair.  I had given them treats about 1 foot apart from each other.  MK needed some coaxing to come on the bed with me and I was sandwiched between them.

April 11
Miss Kitty is back in the house.  I'm not letting her take over and giving first preference to Pepper.  She can be a little bossy.  She'll get plenty of attention, I just don't want Pepper to resent her being in the house.

April 1, 2014
The little escape artist!  She went outside at some point.  I must have left the door ajar.  I panicked last night when I couldn't find her.  Looked for her.  Called her.  My neighbor found her underneath another neighbors truck.  When they got home she came right out to them.  He put her in the house and called me.  She is now safe and sound.  I had already contacted NN Animal Services and gone by SPCA and put in Lost cat form so I had to call both and rescind them.

March 31, 2014
I have kept her separated from Pepper so far.  I'm not going to assume I can just let them out together immediately.   I thought about letting her roam the house with him out of it but decided not to (Pepper is indoor/outdoor).  I wish I had kept him indoors but he loves it outdoors with his cat friends.

March 30, 2014
Miss Kitty is back with me.  I put her on the table at Petsmart and she did really well for about 3 hrs and then decided she had enough of lots of people, children, dogs walking by. Little fingers in her cage and copped an attitude. Not an attitude conducive to finding her a home, ie hissing and swatting.  She was done and stressed out and it was so busy I didn't notice until she swiped at some one.  Then she didn't realize that leaving there was next on the agenda.  She's in the bathroom now.  I think the thing she is enjoying most is scratching on her scratcher which she hasn't been able to do for quite a while.

March 29, 2014
Miss Kitty will come back to my home Sunday if she isn't adopted today or tomorrow.  I really hope she finds a new home this weekend.

March 15, 2014
Miss Kitty back at Petsmart

March 14, 2014
I left them confined in different parts of the house on Thursday. Came home and Pepper enjoyed his time out. MK slept with me. Pepper thought about it but wasn't sure he wanted to with an orange and white sleeping in the middle of HIS bed. This morning he did come on the bed and MK didn't budge. He told her what he thought of her but she still didn't budge. I fed them both treats. Pepper LOVES his and would climb back and forth over me to get to them totally ignoring her. She definitely has claimed territory and he hasn't been asserting any dominance. I let him out this morning but I'm not watching how he is with the ferals but he might be chasing them off, if they let him. Several (Moses for one) have learned if they just calmly refuse to move he's all hiss and no muscle.

March 13, 2014
I have no idea what happened with them yesterday while I was gone but neither slept with me last night. I did notice that last night MK was sleeping in some of Pepper's current favorite places. This morning both came in the bathroom with me. Pepper though was a little grumpy with MK. MK wasn't at all upset or nervous and was quite content but Pepper growled at her a few times. Maybe Pepper wants his house back?

March 12, 2014
I left them out all day in the house, came home and Pepper bolted out the door. hmmm... what happened while I was gone. Wed night neither slept with me. In the morning they both followed me in the bathroom. Pepper would intermittently hiss at MK - what did she do to him on Wednesday? I don't know.

March 11, 2014
Last night was interesting.  I went to bed and Miss Kitty took over the cat bed which is on the bed - I decided to buy it at Petsmart as it was on sale for $10.  Pepper was downstairs.  I went and got him and brought him to bed with me.  He didn't like being forced so he jumped down and left. MK ignored him.  He then jumped back on the bed and went to claim his cat bed.  He hissed at her and she didn't budge.  He backed off and came to the head of bed next to pillow where he stayed put and I gave him attention.  MK got out of the bed and came next to my side just inches from Pepper and just lay down there.  I'm not sure if she said anything to him or not.  I think she must have because it woke me up but she just stayed put and he stayed put.  Then I heard loud purring- not sure but I think it was MK.  He was still on the bed too.  He jumped off the bed sometime this morning and MK just stayed there.  She loves sleeping in the bed with me and is a pretty sound and quiet sleeper.  on the contrary Pepper can sometimes snore.

This morning with my regular routine, I went into the large bathroom upstairs where I had been keeping MK.  She came in with me.  He then came in with me.  He ignored her but proceeded to jump up so he could sit on my lap when I do my business.   Crazy morning ritual.  He tried to jump directly but then jumped on the tub.  She was right where he wanted to go.  He ignored her but proceeded to do what he wanted to do.  She moved to the other side of the bathroom and just watched.  After getting some loving Pepper took interest in her, hissed once as if to assert his dominance.  He's done this with ferals when I've given attention outside.  I just told him to stop and he did.

When I left he followed and after he left I put out her food and closed the door so he couldn't eat her food and fed him downstairs.  Now he sits looking up at me as if to say can I go out now Mom.   So he is out to do his business.  If he was a dog I'd be walking him.  I wonder what happened to the harness I bought.

March 10, 2014
MK has been sleeping with me - Pepper has not.  Last night with her confined - he did sleep with me.  This morning she decided to sleep in the cat bed upstairs that he was sleeping in earlier.  so they are trading spaces.  He went up this morning but didn't stay up there.

March 9, 2014 PM.
they were on either side of me on the couch.  neither one was to happy with the situation and Miss Kitty was the first to leave.  then when I try to comfort her and see how she's doing she ran away from me not sure if it was just a game of keep away.  Miss Kitty was the 1st to jump on the couch, Pepper the second but they were both uncomfortable with the other being there.  Now she's on top of a tall curio cabinet where she can watch everything.  She gets there from the stairs.  It was Socks favorite location.

March 9
She won't let him stay upstairs.  One objection from her and he goes downstairs.  she's claimed the upstairs and wants to claim the whole house.  poor pepper.  he's letting her.  and now she's asking to go outside.  I have to watch her.

March 8
Both were in kitchen.  I served both some wet.  Pepper ate his and MK wasnt sure she wanted to eat with him in the same room.  The bowls were too close together - in her opinion.   I moved hers closer to her and when I did he left his and tried to eat hers.  She wasn't too happy but I coaxed him into cat room so she could eat in peace which she did.  She is doing very well.  My sister has mom and 2 siblings and they have more conflict than these two.  I still hope to have 2 bedwarmers.

March 7
Last night he cleaned out a can in the kitchen.  She came into the kitchen and watched him from a few feet away.  He was totally engrossed in what he was doing.  He finally noticed her and hissed. She walked away and ran around the downstairs playfully for quite a while. I decided she deserved a treat.  I confined him and fed her in the same place he had eaten.  She later went into the cat room to her favorite spot under the bed. He then went in to eat some dry.  I left them together with door shut so I could feed ferals.  I don't think he even realized she was under the bed.   After feeding the ferals he came out and she did later.

His favorite spot right now is on the back of the couch.  He's been sleeping there at night whereas he normally was sleeping with me.  I think Miss Kitty told him at some point to stay away and he respected her.  One morning he came up and she from the comfort of the bed hissed and he went back downstairs.  Since I don't know how long Miss Kitty will be here or how many times she'll be here I do want her to get along with Pepper and vice versa.  He has had more trouble with kitten fosters than adults in the past.  I usually just use the garage for the fosters but this winter it has just been too cold so they have had to be inside.   Cat room which is Peppers pretty much is downstairs and the upstairs bathroom is the fosters room. I don't let the fosters run around the house until I know they won't hide on me and will pretty much come to me when I want them to.

Pepper usually wants to go out more when I have fosters.  He does get along with the ferals pretty well.  He doesn't chase them off as much as he used to especially when a couple gained confidence from me that they were welcome and just refused and didn't move.  Moses learned if he just stayed put Pepper would leave him alone.  total nonverbal communication.  I've seen a couple of the girls even try to head butt Pepper recently, even ones that he would chase off in the past.  He's been my little ambassador to them.  I wish I could find homes for a couple of them.

March 5. afternoon.  Miss kitty and pepper are both loose.  Lol.  I was going to confine pepper in cat room but miss kitty found a nice warm spot under bed so she would have been trapped in there with him.  She slept with me all night.  Pepper has been ignoring her and respecting her hisses.  Miss kitty is gaining confidence.  She is still super cautious when it comes to pepper.  I was going to confine him in the cat room downstairs this morning after he came in from outside but MK found a nice spot under the bed and was not making her presence known so I decided I'd just let them both have the house.  I was hoping to go home at lunch but didn't have enough time.  Taking a class that got condensed from 5 days to 3.  I just want to go home.  I started fighting a cold yesterday.

March 4.
I kept them separated for a while and finally let her explore.  Pepper was on the top of the cat tree and watching her.  She didn't notice for quite a while.  He looked like he wanted to pounce but a word from me and he stayed put.  She went in cat room where I feed him and he went in.  She hissed at him and found a nice warm spot under the bed.  She came out later when he was out of the room.  She was on high alert watching for him but since he didn't appear she relaxed.  She realizes now that he gets to go outside.  He has not approached her when she hisses.

March 2
I retrieved Miss Kitty (MK) from Petsmart.  She'll stay in the spare bathroom for a couple of days with plenty of attention.

Diary of Fosters

July 7 - only have Ariel and Willow.  Mandy took Bosley and Kelly until at least Saturday.  Kelly loved playing with Augustus.  Bosley enjoyed investigating everything but he was content to sit on a lap and watch the other 3 - Gus, Versace and Kelly romp together.  It sure is quiet around here without them.

June 29 - Miss Kitty adopted!!!

June 1 Camden adopted at Petco maybe next week will be Wrigley's special day.
May 31 Fenway adopted at Tractor Supply

May 25
ballpark litter went to Petco - none adopted.

May 23
The ballpark litter is with me for 2 nights at least while M goes to Maryland.  They will go to Petco on Sunday for adoption and I hope they all get adopted.  IF not they come back to me and then to Mandy.

May 4
Clarisa adopted.

May 3
Clarisa and Pumpkin at Petsmart.  I have Tigger from Petco - formerly Wendy's/Dawns.

April 30
last day of panacure for clarisa

April 29
Clarisa's foot rechecked - everything good for Saturday

April 15, 2014 - MC was adopted today. yippee!

April 9,2014  - the garage now has a feral Pretty Girl who is waiting for a ride to her forever home.  She freaked out when I tried to make friends with her this morning.  Kitter still needs to be trapped, vetted before she can go anywhere.  Trapped is the key word

April 8, 2014 - M.C. has been added to facebook.

April 4, 2014 AM - MC is getting neutered today.  Miss Kitty acted like a bezerk and then decided to park herself on my lap and then went bezerk again when I had to get up to get ready to leave

March 17, 2014 - I started a blog on Cindy's foster - Tucker.  A sweet 5 month, neutered male that came from the IOW Shelter.

March 2014 - been a long time since I updated this blog.  My only foster right now is Miss Kitty.

Sept 29, 2013 - Eve and Bella met me at the door - happy and hungry.  They have both lost some weight that they needed to lose that they had gained while eating at Petsmart

Sept 27, 2013 Snow White adopted.  She went to an enthusiastic adopter.  On Sept 28, Millie and Hatteras Sky (both fosters of Cindy) were adopted.  Horse - the kitten I fostered for a short period before Mandy took him last weekend was adopted too.

Sept 29, 2013  I plan to put Bella back up in a cage at Petsmart.  Hopefully she'll get adopted quickly as she doesn't particularly care for cages.

Sept 26, 2013  Bella and Eve are doing great.  They get along pretty well with each other.  Bella likes to pester Eve at times but will give Eve her room.

Sept 20,2013 Snow White is back at Petsmart.  Eve and Bella had a lot of time out together in relative less activity.  Eve decided she liked the box storing the newspaper for cages.

Sept 17, 2013 PM  Bella and Snow White out together.  Eve started swiping at me.  I wanted to leave her out over night but I didn't.  All of them got a treat tonight.

Sept 17, 2013  AM Eve was out all night.  Interested in the door when I went in garage this morning but didn't rush the garage door so I'm happy about that.  She was sweet and I picked her up but she wasn't too too excited about it.  She had her breakfast in the cage and I let Bella and Snow White out together.  Snow White showed interested in Bella for the first time.  They started to play.  A little hissing.  Sometimes its hard to tell if it is play or aggression.  It can look similar.  When Bella decided to hiss at me when I tried to pet her I figured that was enough for her so back in the cage for breakfast she went.  There is enough room that they can hide from each other if they want.  They were playing cat and mouse back and forth and I wasn't too concerned about any kind of a cat fight.  Bella just got tired out earlier than Snow White who is jumpy as always.  I ended up leaving Bella out for the day.

Sept 16, 2013 PM  Snow White and Bella had time out together again this evening and did great together.  No problems at all.  Eve is out overnight.  She is happy now.  rolling around on the floor.  I have to really watch the door with her because she has shown interest...  She'll be out all night instead of Bella who will be out tomorrow.

Sept 16, 2013 AM I don't know where Bella slept for the night.  I decided to let Snow White out just as Bella appeared.  They sniffed noses.  Bella hissed halfheartedly and then Snow White left to investigate after being cooped up all night.  Bella decided to follow her around and I heard a small hiss from one of them - probably Snow White.  Bella did get a little agitated and insecure.  I petted her a bit and she went back into her "home"/security blanket aka cage where she now is happy eating.  Eve observed everything.  She smelled my hand.  After giving her food and new litter she thought about swiping (typical torti temperamentality LOL).  She and Bella now watch Snow White who is racing around like a Jack Russell, or an ADD cat with a short attention span as she zips back and forth after a ball or for no reason.  Snow White is such a character.  She's more fun to watch than TV.  I can't believe she hasn't been adopted yet.   Maybe next time at Petsmart or before.  Eve responded well through the bars to the girls.  Bella is a little raccoon.  Likes to eat and drink with her paw.

Sept 15, 2013  PM I now have three adult females - Bella, Eve and Snow White.  What fun - 3 catty females that are temperamental and moody and to a certain extent have different degrees of liking other cats.  They are going to take longer to take care of because they each need their time out separately.  However I hope to let Snow White and Bella together tomorrow.  Bella is out overnight.  Eve's reaction to Bella being out was just to hiss.  A typical torti.  I hopeful in the next couple of weeks they'll get used to each other so I can let them all out at once but I'm not counting my chickens.

Sept 15, 2013 AM Bella was sleeping on a box on a shelf.  I didn't see her at first and thought she might be up in the rafters.  She came down and was hugged and kissed (by me) and seemed to enjoy it.  She's by herself at the moment and enjoying it.  She did nip me in playfulness and responded to no.  A laser pointer or another toy did the trick of getting her mind off of thinking I was a plaything.

Sept 14, 2013 PM - down from 7 cats to 1 - 3 kittens adopted, 2 kittens to another foster, 1 at Petsmart overnight.  The only one I have is Bella who is happy to be by herself.  Tomorrow I'll add Snow White and Eve if not adopted.

March 11, 2014  I've been lazy about keeping the blog uptodate.  I presently have just Miss Kitty.  I'll update information later to include Ginger and Socks.

Sept 14, 2013 I let Snow White out with the kittens.  She had fun playing with them.   She did fine with all 5 out.  I had wondered if she'd be overwhelmed.  They listened to her when she had enough and she'd chase them and vice versa.  Flamingo especially liked her.   It was fun to watch.  Star got some Fancy Feast along with the Purina One.  She is so teeny.  Bella was out all night and was much quicker to come down from her perch this morning.  I don't know if she went all the way into the rafters or not but she came down pretty quickly and after some petting went back into her home and security blanket - her cage.  One of the kittens tried to get the ball that was in her cage and she hissed at him.  She definitely doesn't care too much for other cats and wants her way even with me.  If startled she'll hiss.

Sept 13, 2013 AM - Bella out all night.  Went up into the rafters.  Needed some coaxing to come down.  Easier to go up than down.  I made one of the ways down more secure footing.  There are several ways to go up or to go down.

Sept 11 AM - decided to go to vet because of Horse - his eye.  Switched meds to eye drops.

Sept 10, 2013 PM - Five kittens showed up.  Cindy took them to be tested and then brought them over.  Two silver - one with bobtail, grey tabby with bob tail, brown tabby and solid grey.  Horse has eye injury, Star is the runt but otherwise all healthy.  star sneezing intermittently.  All on L'lysine.  Started deworming of all 5 for 3 days.  The names they came with (by a 4 yr old) - Star, Princess, Flower (F), Horse and Flamingo.  I was thinking about changing names but Horse keeps his since he is on vet record at An. Clinic of Eagle Harbor.

Sept 8, 2013 - Snow White and Bella.  Bella was an owner surrender I believe.  Snow White was a stray.  She was found with 3 kittens.  She'll gain experience with another cat now that I have both cats in my garage.

Sept 5, 2013 - The 4 P Kitties were tested at almost 7 weeks and were positive for FIV.

July 26, 2013 - Sparkles got spayed.  A potential adoptive met the kittens today at Petsmart.

July 23, 2013 - after one day at Petsmart Julius is adopted!!!

July 20, 2013 - I thought I would have a week break from fosters but Sparkles had to come home.  All the others are at Petsmart.

June 20 - Julius is loose in garage and enjoying be up on a shelf.  Not all the way in the rafters as he has enjoyed in the past.  Ethal was out at the same time.  Julius wanted to play with her and she would just rebuff him with a hiss but I think another day and she'll be playing.

Julius and Ethal - Julius has a tempting toy - one of his favorites
Julius is acting scared or tentative.

Tigger - Adopted!

Tigger is an owner surrender, he was born Nov 2006 and has been returned twice.  The first time because they were moving and were limited in the number of cats they could take and had other cats.  This happened about 2 years ago.  He was recently surrendered because he was bullying the other cat that they have.  These factors might make it difficult to find the perfect home for him and may mean he needs to be an only cat. Right after he was surrendered he went into a cage at Petco NN for 3 weeks.  I took him from Petco cages to the Petsmart adoptathon on Sat May 3.   He stressed out a few other cats in close proximity so we covered his cage.  He's a DLH or a Maine Coon and we hope that is in his favor to get him adopted.  He doesn't like any other animals.

August 11 - Here the two are getting along great.

June 8 - Tigger is adopted!  to a family in Gloucester.  They have a young kitten but a big enough house for both of them and the adopter has experience with rescues and likes mature cats preferring them to kittens.  The story behind the kitten adoption story was an appealing one.  Tigger now King was very happy to be brushed and giving the owner lots of kisses and she is VERY happy.  Husband wanted Cha Cha and said don't be surprised if I get a call.  Best to get King very settled first since he will adjust slower than Cha Cha.

May 18
Tigger is at Petsmart.  I saw him today. He's doing really well.  The two females in a different cage hissing at him caused him to retreat under the cages but he came out with some encouragement from me and was happy to go back into his own cage.

Tigger testing his limits.  Last night in his time out he climbed into the rafters and then wanted me to come get him?  he got himself up there he can get himself down.  I'm not sure if he wanted down or not but he had enough time out so I manipulated him to get down.  This morning time out, he jumped on my lap for some loving.  Started out with love licks which got a little harder and then I got nipped; he didn't break the skin.  I scruffed him real quickly - shook him said no and put him back in the cage.  Now he wants out again but I think he's staying there for today.   Just has to learn manners and what is acceptable and what is not acceptable behavior.  Cats are like kids and dogs in the sense that they must be disciplined.   I have too much to do this morning.

May 4
Tigger really good with the neighbor kids.

May 3
Took him from Petco to the Adoptathon.  Put him between two other cats on the table.  He wasn't happy about it and stressed them a bit to the point we covered his cage.  Took him to my garage.

Pumpkin - adopted

What's up....
Pumpkin is about 4 years old, a spayed female wanting a lot of attention and love.  Her prior owner bought a pug and the cat was jumping on it.  Wanting to play?  Just wanting attention - don't know.  She had been fine with dogs before.  When she spent the first night at Cindy's she was mad at everyone and everything.  First night with me she also was that way but now she is turning out to be an attention hound.  She is starving for attention, very vocal, jumps up on my lap and gets in my face.
I try to avoid selfies but here is one.
She's more orange than this pic showsl

May 9
adopted! 5/8 to a home with 2 other dogs and a cat. She's doing great in her new family slept with the daughter had a hissing match with the torti but today doing better. She was not perturbed by the small dog who was more scared of her I guess.  She will be a member of the family.

May 3
Pumpkin is at Petsmart.  I'll check on her on Tuesday.  Maybe I'll get a call before then and get her adopted on Tuesday.  I sure hope so.

May 1
When I put her in the cage below Clarissa she tries to climb the cage to get to me.  The owner also said that she was biting family members.  I haven't seen ANY of that type of behavior.  She is very very friendly and doesn't want to be ignored.  I wonder if they just ignored her too much.  She'll be at the Petsmart Adoptathon on Saturday May 3, 2014.  If she's not adopted then she may spend the night to be there for Sunday and if there is cage space up there after the adoptathon she'll stay there for 3 weeks unless she is adopted before her time is up.

April 30
This girl is starving for attention.  I can't possibly capture it with the camera.  She needs a forever family which will give her lots of attention.  I pick her up and hug her when she asks.  I have squeezed her hard to see what her reaction is.  She'll ask to be put down and come right back.  No indication in the least of any kind of nipping scratching or any bad behavior.  She has a lot of energy and doesn't like being ignored.  She does have a taste for the outdoors but hasn't tried to bolt out the garage.  A simple no has caused her to back off from the door.  I haven't introduced her to Pepper.

April 28
Pumpkin loved the attention from the kids next door.  They picked her up and held her and she was content and happy and purring like crazy.  No nipping or even attempt to nip.  One very happy girl

April 27
Such an exhibition of a desire for attention.  She is enjoying the freedom of the garage and found a box by a window so she can look out.  I think she has a taste for the outdoors.  She hasn't tried to bolt out of the detached garage but I have to keep my eye on her.  She meeows like crazy.  She was very hard to get a picture of cause she wouldn't stay still.  Mandy came over with a feral and Pumpkin reached through the cage bars to get attention from her.

April 25
She got showered with Clarissa's diarrhea this morning.  I tried to shampoo Pumpkin but she bolted back into her cage.  Poor Pumpkin - she sure has had a time of it.  Pumpkin is about 4 years old.

please please love me -
my love tank is empty and I want you to fill it up.

Macie (Mandy's) and flower family ALL ADOPTED

Three of the four!
The Flower family - Petunia (Mom) - Peony, Poppy, Posie and ? are now (4/27- 6 weeks old) and will be able to be adopted next weekend.  They may be at Petco.  They have been fostered by Leslie then Mandy then Leslie.  :-)  I don't know if they are all adopted.  I think that they are now.  Macie and Mason are just about ready June 4 and will be at Petco on Saturday June 7.  I think.  After her second litter of orphans ( no pics available) she'll be spayed and put up for adoption.  She has been a wonderful Mom.

June 7 -
Mason adopted.  Macie is back with Leslie and the others that she has - Rum Tum Tucker and Grizabella.  I think that is their names.

May 5
The flower family is ready for adoption and people are interested.  Maybe they'll all be adopted by the weekend.  Mom Petunia is still nursing 5 orphans - Macie, Mason and 3 others - the names I can't remember; Leslie named them.

April 27
Petunia is done nursing her own and is foster Mom to 5 kittens from 2 different litters!  Next week the flower kittens will be 7 weeks old and can be put up for adoption!   The two litters are Mason and Macie which I think are 3 weeks behind the flower family kittens and then the next 3 which are probably at most a week.  Petunia is really responsive to the new very hungry screaming babies.
The 5 kittens are getting along great and
Macie is nice and warm

Petunia with her own 4 and an orphan

April 19 - Macie's eyes are beginning to crack open.  Since kittens eyes open about 7-10 days old - I think.  she
Macie first day

she is definitely tiny!

Pictures are from the first night I had her. I put her in the carrier with a heating pad and when I went to get her for a feeding she was lounging and relaxed in the warmth of the blanket. I put the dollar next to her to give perspective of her size.
These pics are from the first night which is ???   She was bottle fed but now is being taken care of by Petunia who readily adopted her as her own.     The dollar bill shows just how tiny she is.  Her eyes aren't open yet in these pics and wont open until she is... days old.  Petunia's babies will be 5 weeks old as of 4/20.   What a difference in size.  Petunia is a very good mother to her own and to her adoptive daughter.

I weighed her yesterday. She was 5.5 oz.
