OSO kittens - May 2012

May  - June 2012.  Five kittens from a neighbor.  She had 2 females who were not spayed and "never" got outside.  All it took was for her to get out once while she was in heat and five kittens were the result.  She had had several litters and this needed to stop.  I offered to assist and scheduled appointments for the Mom and daughter to be spayed.  The weekend before the surgeries, I went over to her house to get arrange the details of getting the cats to the van etc and saw furrballs.  Well one surgery was going to have to wait.  The daughter from a previous litter had never had kittens and never would.  She had surgery on schedule and later the Mom did.  At that point I took the kittens.  The owner said she had an adopter for one of the kittens but several days later called me to tell me the adoption didn't happen and would I take the fifth which I did.   The neighbors daughter was upset that she would have to say goodbye to the babies.   All are adopted in great homes.  She was a little rough with them so it took a little while for them to trust me and not run.

At that time I wasn't naming them but let the adopter name the cats.

Reapor (named by his adopter)  - the last one to get adopted but I thought he'd be the first.  He was one of the most playful energetic kitties.  Going to Petsmart on a weekend was an adventure for sure.  While all the other kittens would be trying to sleep he would do his best to reach into or up into their cage to play with them.  He was a bundle of energy and a real boy.  The litter of 5 had 3 long haired grey tabbies. black with white chest and solid grey.

Kitsie was adopted by a gal who had no plans to adopt.  She was mourning the loss of a cat she had adopted from the SPCA which had lots of medical issues and wound up costing a lot financially.  Her vet said t was a bad spay operation.  She fell in love with Kitsie and adopted her.

This little girl was the first one to warm up to me.  She was also adopted the first weekend I took them up to Petsmart along with her brother also a grey tabby.  I had so much fun with these kitties

Here she is again with a sibling behind her.  Her hair wasn't really long sort of medium length.  But she was so cute and friendly and would come and greet me right away.
