Sandy - adopted

Sandy showed up at the feral colony of a friend of mine in Portsmouth.  My Ginger had been put down recently and I was looking for another cat or thought I was.  Sandy who I named was a sand colored orange tabby male.  He was harassing other cats in her colony and she wound up bringing him into her house in a laundry room and had him about a week when we talked.  My friend has two groups of cats in her house already that are separated since they don't get along.    A pair live in the son's bedroom and the others live downstairs.  They can see each other and smell each other as she installed a screen door inside the house at the door of the son.  They modified the door so they can pet the cats inside the room from outside of the bedroom and reinforced the bottom to avoid screen damage.  Quite ingenius.  I have a cat room in my house.  I have thought about doing it.  but haven't yet.

Dec 17, 2011 I picked him up from Portsmouth.  I took him home in a cloth carrier.  He didn't like it at all because it would move and he thought he could get out.   It was quite traumatic.  He survived the trip home.  Lesson learned.  The best carrier for a strange cat is a hard case.
