Tigger - Adopted!

Tigger is an owner surrender, he was born Nov 2006 and has been returned twice.  The first time because they were moving and were limited in the number of cats they could take and had other cats.  This happened about 2 years ago.  He was recently surrendered because he was bullying the other cat that they have.  These factors might make it difficult to find the perfect home for him and may mean he needs to be an only cat. Right after he was surrendered he went into a cage at Petco NN for 3 weeks.  I took him from Petco cages to the Petsmart adoptathon on Sat May 3.   He stressed out a few other cats in close proximity so we covered his cage.  He's a DLH or a Maine Coon and we hope that is in his favor to get him adopted.  He doesn't like any other animals.

August 11 - Here the two are getting along great.

June 8 - Tigger is adopted!  to a family in Gloucester.  They have a young kitten but a big enough house for both of them and the adopter has experience with rescues and likes mature cats preferring them to kittens.  The story behind the kitten adoption story was an appealing one.  Tigger now King was very happy to be brushed and giving the owner lots of kisses and she is VERY happy.  Husband wanted Cha Cha and said don't be surprised if I get a call.  Best to get King very settled first since he will adjust slower than Cha Cha.

Tigger is at Petsmart.  I saw him today. He's doing really well.  The two females in a different cage hissing at him caused him to retreat under the cages but he came out with some encouragement from me and was happy to go back into his own cage.

Tigger testing his limits.  Last night in his time out he climbed into the rafters and then wanted me to come get him?  he got himself up there he can get himself down.  I'm not sure if he wanted down or not but he had enough time out so I manipulated him to get down.  This morning time out, he jumped on my lap for some loving.  Started out with love licks which got a little harder and then I got nipped; he didn't break the skin.  I scruffed him real quickly - shook him said no and put him back in the cage.  Now he wants out again but I think he's staying there for today.   Just has to learn manners and what is acceptable and what is not acceptable behavior.  Cats are like kids and dogs in the sense that they must be disciplined.   I have too much to do this morning.

Tigger really good with the neighbor kids.

May 3
Took him from Petco to the Adoptathon.  Put him between two other cats on the table.  He wasn't happy about it and stressed them a bit to the point we covered his cage.  Took him to my garage.
