Best buds

TT (black), Charlie(white) - best buds
TT and Charlie are best buds now and hang out together in the garage.  They sleep together and rough house together.  Charlie loves tuna treats and I have gotten to the point where she'll eat out of my hand.  TT and Charlie love the brown bed and they will - occasionally - and depending on who and their mood let you pet them.  Charlie's instinct is to bolt to rafters but if I don't look at her and get close enough and can get my hand on her she will enjoy petting but picking up - that's a totally different story.  That hasn't happened.
I have my eye on you.  Charlie: ready to bolt if you come too close
Charlie has her eye on you...

Charlie considering climbing up on the lightbulb.  protected now so she can't.

Beauty

Beauty is a sweet friendly long haired torti/tabby mix.  She is wonderful with everyone and with cats.  She loves to be loved on.  She is a total love bug and wants attention from her person and loves to sit on your lap.

Beauty was a stray, probably abandoned who was being fed outside for a month but the feeder couldn't let her in because her cats had medical issues.  Beauty also wasn't too tolerant of other cats at that time.

Beauty was delivered to me in March 2015 and really hated cats AT THAT TIME but over the last 9 months she has grown adjusted and gotten really good with other fosters.

For the first couple of days that I had her, she was angry and hissed and swatted at me.  I thought she'd never get over it.  Then she settled down and she had free range of the garage and would come when called.  She wasn't one to climb in the rafters or hide at that time.  At that time, she reacted to meeowing of a cat outside and went on high alert and tried to find that cat to tell it what's what but settled down after she realized cat wasn't in her domain.  Talk about the change in her over the last 9 months!!

You'd wondered if she was even the same cat...now.  She now gets along with other cats.  Played with kitten fosters and was reported to actually have groomed one of my other fosters.  Oh how she needs a forever home.

December 4, 2015 - Beauty is adopted!!!!  Yay!!!

November 2015.  She is back at Petsmart.  Someone fell in love with her but the husband is still grieving over the death of their last of 3 cats and is not ready to adopt another yet.  She's hopeful her husband will come around but I've got to let go of the hope.  It sounded like the perfect home for Beauty.  The exact personality the wife was looking for in a cat and Beauty looks like one of her previous cats.

Early Nov 2015.  It was reported that Beauty actually groomed one of my other fosters.  Oh I wish there was a picture.  I can hardly believe she's the same cat.

Sept 11, 2015 - Beauty will go to Adoptathon this weekend.  She is doing phenomenal with other cats and other kittens and early in the week we took the restriction off her petfinder page.  Take a look at how she is doing with them

Aug 8, 2015 - sweet Beauty is back at Petsmart - maybe this time she'll get adopted!

May 31, 2015 Beauty is adjusted and content at Petsmart and it is time to bring her out again.  I want her to have a new home so badly.

May 19, 2015 Beauty is back at Petsmart and not liking it.  I spent around an hour with her on Sunday afternoon letting her out in the cat area.  She tried to go after some of the cats that were in the other cages.  I'd love her to get adopted soon.  She doesn't show well but in a home setting she is a regular lovebug.

April 30, 2015  Beauty is enjoying all of my petting.  I got 3 of her many sharp nails cut as she rolled around on my lap being loved on.  At this rate maybe by the weekend they'll all be cut.

April 29, 2015  Beauty is back from Cindy's.  Adjusting very well to being back.  Cindy said she was difficult to start hissing at the dogs.  She finally got to the point of being okay with Emo and not hissing at her.

A 6 month old kitten invited himself into the garage and she went after him.  I wasn't too concerned.  She sniffed his butt and he totally ignored her.  Kitten went into her cage and she then ignored him but she was very alert to every motion he made.  She was happy when he left.  Gave me hope that maybe she could learn to tolerate other cats.  If she's not adopted during her present time at Petsmart I'll bring her into the house and see how she is with my Pepper.  It's starting that season when I live in my garage.

Beauty
Beauty - please love on me.

Beauty at Petsmart - during her first visit and when she first got there
March 28 - she is at Petsmart getting adjusted.  I'm hoping she'll adjust quickly.  She doesn't like being caged and being in a room with lots of other cat smells and people with cat smells.... She has been a little swatty.  She swatted me once and I told her no and she quit and then loved being petted.  She got my lecture when I went to visit her that if she keeps on acting like that noone is going to adopt her.  I'm hopeful she'll shape up.  She's definitely not as bad as Autumn who refused to come around and now has to establish herself in a pecking order in a feral colony.

March 21 or 14?  Arden brought her over.  I think the 14th.

Simon

Simon is such a sweet boy with the most unique eyes
Simon is a very sweet boy who was found begging outside.  Based on eartip we know he was TNRed.  But he's friendly so time to.find him.a forever home.  He's Wendy's foster but he stayed with me a couple of days during Joaquim.
Simon says - let me out.  I want attention.

Cameo and Archie

Archie
Cameo
Cameo and Archie were fosters of Cat Corner's Tiffany.  Since I had some time available to work with some projects I offered.    They are doing great and are ready for adoption.  They've been spayed/neutered and up to date on all their shots.  Archie needs one more FVCRP but the owner can get his final shot.

Oct 5, 2015 - I did something stupid - locked myself out of the house.  After trying unsuccessfully to reach friends who have a spare key I called the lock smith.  A total of 3 hrs or so they were running around loose in the house.    I wondered what kind of mischief they might get into.   When I finally got into the house - guess where they were.  Lying contentedly in their hammock in their cage LOL.

Sept 26 - Cameo and Archie went to No More Chasin Tails to get spayed/neutered respectively

Sept 12 - Tiffany delivered two little 8-12 weeks old?  Projects needing a little more hands on time.

Day 0 (Sept 12) - when they arrived and TIffany put them in a cage
 where they stayed temporarily

Beauty and the cats

Beauty is getting better and better with other cats.
Ignoring TT at this point
Beauty is getting better and better.
TT: "what are you doing Beauty"
I'm thinking of doing something like pounce on you?

TT:  maybe I'll go behind the scratcher and come at her
from that direction
TT pounced and Beauty decided to leave
All in play

Beauty is stalking TT who is around the corner

Katniss is trying to get Beauty to play.  She's hysterical

Queen str kittens

Sept 1.  They are outgrowing the cage.  Ready for adoption!!!
The brothers are letting their sister have the hammock.  Isn't that
sweet of them.

Day 0 (July 24) scared to death
These 3 kittens were trapped with feral Mom in Hampton.  The Mom is TNRed and I have the fun of socializing these babies estimated at 7-8 weeks old but they are definitely older.  Based on their estimate of age at surgery they are aproximately 12 weeks at the time I got them.  They are on the skinny side.  The black one definitely.  The tabby is sort of tall and lanky with long legs (a boy).  Darius is a boy and Vashti is a girl

After a "naming competition" on Facebook and a trial run of soda names (Sprite, coke and Pepsi), I decided to go with royal names because they were trapped near Queen Street.  Nicholas Alexander and Cleopatra were 3 I considered but Cleopatra would have been the 2nd.  The I decided to try biblical.  Xerxes, Darius and Esther.  Esther has been used so I went with Vashti.  The first wife of the king who was "bad" and rejected and replaced with Esther.  Vashti though is one of the sweetest little black kitties and will be fun for whoever adopts her.

Day 0 - these are the 3 I have to work with
Xerxes, Darius and Vashti
Sept 2 - They are going to Petsmart NN whenever I can get them there - tonight or tomorrow on way to work.  Aren't they going to be in for a surprise and a change of scenery  Come see them there!

Sept 1 - The babies have grown and are ready for adoption!!!  The are outgrowing their cage.  They basically are confined only when I'm not there to supervise them.   I'm glad they get along so well.  The brothers have let their sister have the hammock.

August 31 - Xerxes put something in his mouth which got stuck.  He tried to get it out and kept pawing his mouth.  I tried to get it out but it wasn't coming out so we went to the Emergency Vet.  I guess maybe I loosed it and he got rid of it because it was gone when the vet looked into his mouth.

August 30 - all got their second and final FVCRP.  They were microchipped and got dewormed with Strongid - yummy... yuck.

Aug 26 - all doing well. Finally put profender on Darius. The other 2 had it on monday 2 weeks ago.

Aug 22 - photo session for pics to post on Cat Corner website and pet finder.  Lots of blurry ones so I sent one of pepper just for fun lol. "Vashti in a few years" lol. Darius is doing so much better.  He doesn't run away any more and I can pick him up and put him in his cage without any bolting or fear.  If I grab him too quickly he fights me but he comes right back.  A little petting and he is purring.  He finally turned the corner the day after his surgery on August 17.

Aug 17 - off we go to get spayed and neutered.  After surgery the recovery at this age is so fast.  The boys play really rough and for.that reason vashti is by herself.  Anseparate.cage in the living room which she turned into a total disaster the first night 2nd.night I left her with her brothers and tho her belly looked fine the 2nd night I didn't want to run the risk so.she is in the garage.  She's been entertained by younger kittens.  I let her out in garage after a couple of days with hunger game trio. Who were quick to try to make friends but vashti hissed to say stay away.  The 2nd day out of cage with them and she started to play with them. Katniss and vashti traded hisses and raised fur but they started chasing each other around.  Vashti may have been intimidated as she was.outnumbered 3 to 1.

Aug 12 am - Made some real progress with Darius.  He loves the shoe lace.  His favorite toy of the moment.  I use it to draw him near me and then go for petting him.    Petting from the front causes him to retreat but if I can start petting him he does respond favorably.  He did actually hang around and purred for the 2nd day in a row.  He's back to being by himself after being impossible yesterday morning.  Two steps forward one step back.

Aug 9 pm.  Letting all.stay together in the doubledecker cage.  Toll for coming out.  They need to let me love on them.  Xerxes and vashti very agreeable to the game.  Darius would stay and watch because if I attempted to pet him he'd go back upstairs so he stayed in and watched their antics.  Xerxes would get on top of the cage which is taller than I am and attempt to play with his brother thru the cage.  He can jump from the cat tree next to it.  Time.for bed all back in.  Xerxes falling asleep in the hammock letting me love on him.  Darius actually came over and I was able to pet him with no objection. There is hope for him yet. Lol.

Aug 9 - Xerxe, Darius and Vashti had their first  visit to Cat Corner for their first set of shots (FVCRP), deworm with ? (for Giardia and Coccidia) and Advantage.  They did really well.  Better than I expected.  Darius was done in the toploader except for Advantage when he was brought out.  Scared and frigid -better than scratching and biting.  3 weeks from now Aug 30 - they get their second round of shots and probably their microchip.  August 17 they can have surgery.  Vashti was 2# 15 oz and the 2 boys were 3# 8 oz  and approximately that for Darius as he was weighed in the carrier.  9# in the carrier and the tare weight was 5# 2 ox or so at Banfield.  Based on their weight alone and the fact that kittens gain approximately 1# a month that would mean they are definitely over 12 weeks and closer to 14 weeks which means I got them at 11 to 12 weeks old.  Explains why Darius is being more difficult.  the younger the better for socializing but once they are weaned at least for me as I can't do bottles.  Cat Corner is working on training someone else to help do shots - anyone else interested?  Contact Cat Corner.  I've given one FVCRP myself.  The more practice the better.   Maria does it in the shoulder.

Aug 8 - Xerxes and Vashti - I can handle easily but they are very independent.   Xerxes weighed in at over 3# and Vashti at 2# 15 oz if my baby scale is accurate.  It didn't match Cat corner last time I took kittens there so I don't know.  Darius will tolerate me petting him but moans as if I'm torturing him.  Still so afraid. They weigh in at at close to 3# now then they are at least 12 weeks old now.  I've had them 2 weeks and made some progress but not as much as I'd like.  Especially Darius.

Aug 3 - The kittens are named!!!  Xerxes, Darius and Vashti.  Xerxes is the grey tabby male,  Darius is the Black and white and Vashti is the black kittens.  Kings and queen of Persia in the old testament.

July 28 - oops - I left the door to the cage open and 3 kittens are running around my living room.  2 captured and returned.  The last isn't cooperating in getting back in.  He/she is having a blast.

July 26 - pm after being by himself most of the
day tabby is very open and receptive to human attention.  Black is a close second and the tux is still scared enough to back off and try to get away.  I decided to open cage up so the ladder is in place to go between upper and lower sections. Only 1 litterbox required.  I'll let the 2 siblings be ambassadors to the tuxedo.

July 26 am tabby is now by himself.  He's a boy.  Half hearted hiss gets rewarded by petting.  He has started making bread.  The scrawny black one is with the tuxedo.  I'll put tux by himself for a little while later.  Once I get all to a certain point then they can all be together.

July 25 - scrawny black separated. to the point not hissing almost trying to play. then worked with the feisty tabby. Put that one in with the black. Then the scrawny black reverted back. But I have handled the tabby after not being intimidated by the hissing and got him? totally relaxed.

July 24 - Day 0 - never been touched and scared to death.

Xerxes - isn't he cute.  He's not completely relaxed
but he's getting there.  I was trying to take a nap LOL

Vashti - adopted

Vashti is a  sweet black female kitten about 4 months old (born 4/16/2015 approximately).  She is one of a litter of kittens trapped at approximately 12 weeks near Queen Street in Hampton.    She is very sweet and definitely a girl.  She will roughhouse with her brothers and can keep up with them unless she is standing at a distance watching them play.  Her favorite toys are a little mouse and a shoelace.

She was the 2nd of the 3 to come around.  She loves to play and is not scared of anything.  Lots of energy and almost never still.

She's approximately 4 months old and is current on all her shots is spayed and born approximately April 16.  She will be a great companion and playmate for another  cat.   She definitely likes other cats.  She has no dog experience however she is young enough that she would adjust.   Vashti is one of a litter of kittens trapped near  Queen Street  so they have "royal" names - XerxesDarius and Vashti.

Darius

Darius is a very sweet tuxedo about 4 months old  born approximately April 16.   He is the shyest of the three littermates trapped near Queen Street at about 3 months old.  He took the longest to come around to be handled.  He now can be picked up and loves to play.  Lots of energy and almost never still.  He's approximately 4 months old and is current on all his shots, is neutered and born approximately April 16.  He will be a great companion and playmate for another  cat.   He definitely likes other cats.  He'd let me pet him while he was totally focused on one of his siblings.  He has no dog experience however he is young enough that he would adjust.   Darius is one of a litter of kittens trapped near  Queen Street  so they have "royal" names - Xerxes, Darius and Vashti.

He's been dewormed and flea treated and has his 2nd and final fvcrp on 8/29.  He's ready for a forever home.
