Coal came from a friend of an IOWHS member. The gal he came from was feeding 2 ferals but this one showed up who was very friendly and she believed the cat was abandoned by someone who had moved out of their house. He was described as having a fluffy tail and being an expensive cat. So the working name - sight unseen was Diamond. When I picked him up I said Diamond was in appropriate for this male. It just didn't fit. At the time I was helping TNR some other feral cats; whose kittens were being fostered by the home owner and being put up for adoption. When she saw the cat, she came up with Coal which was perfect for this handsome guy. He was in Petsmart less than 24 hours when I got the call of someone who was interested in adopting him.
He loved riding in the car and the new owners said they take him everywhere. They recently adopted another cat from IOWHS. I finalized the adoption for another foster parent.
