Marco - adopt me now! (see Valerie)
Marco is a 7 yr male with Surry SPCA. He was going to go up to the cage at Petsmart but needed to be tested first and tested FIV+. He was one of four of someone who recently died who lives in IOW County but he's actually under custody of Surry SPCA. The rescue groups work together! Contact Surry SPCA for information to adopt.

Baby Kakes - adopted May 4, 2013
May 4, 2013 - Was adopted at Petsmart Charities Adoptathon at Petsmart. Single guy who has never had a pet before. He met her in person in the cat area after we had started the adoption process. He was a little nervous after a bad experience the day before when he was considering a cat that was at the SPCA. That cat started hissing at him. I could tell Ryan was nervous and told him just to relax. He started petting Baby Kakes who climbed into his lap and starting purring. She acted right at home!
April 2013 - she got loose while I was gone out of state. She was not cooperative in coming back. She doesn't like the cage and thoroughly enjoyed the time out. Her pal from her old family, a small dog named Little Bit came over and she came out of hiding and said hi to him. She was then put in a cage at Petsmart. She had some serious adoption interest but the husband is not ready - still morning the loss of another cat.
March 31, 2013 Baby Kakes had garage time out. She investigated and then wanted to be petted. She is very sweet. I have so many places cats can I hide I can't let them out until I know they won't just run and hide.
April 1, 2013 - Baby Kakes got her rabies and tested negative for FIV/FLV. FVCRP on Wednesday and then she can go up to Petsmart on Thurs or Friday. She gave me her opinion the entire travel time to the vet. talk talk talk talk talk.
Below is Baby Kakes resume....

Baby Kakes spay female
3 years old in May 2013
Baby Kakes was found between the walls of a manufactured home when she was a young kitten. She was rescued by opening up part of the wall. She lived w/my Son and family until now. My daughter in law passed away in January of this year and since my son works out of town Baby Kakes needs a new loving home to care for her.
She is very gentle…extremely gentle w/her claws. She loves to be petted while eating her food. (She eats dry food) Her food was on the top of the clothes dryer, since the dog would get into her food. Therefore she would meow if someone was near to help her up.
She and Little Bit (the dog) got along very well. They would sometimes greet each other by touching w/their noses. The dog has only been with the family the past 6 months. Baby Kakes accepted the dog easily.
Baby Kakes can be very vocal and tell you what she wants. Since she lived in the country, she would go in and out all day. She didn’t use a litter box. She always went potty outside. She is now learning to use the litter box.
I know that whatever family or person that chooses Baby Kakes will have instant love from Baby Kakes. Just look at her loving eyes.
I truly wish we could have kept her.
Grandma.

April 2 - Baby Kakes still hasn't gone to the bathroom yet. Hopefully tomorrow. Can't go to Petsmart until she poops and pees in her litter box. She is so used to going outside but she has got to go sometime. She hadn't been eating a whole lot but I'm sure she could go to the bathroom.
April 3. She definitely used her litterbox but upended it in the process. I put a bigger one in. she does not like being ignored. Was very vocal when I cleaned the other cages and started shoveling litter but stopped when I gave her attention
Ellie May - adopted
Ellie May was someone else's foster but I took care of her for 3 weeks. She had been at Petsmart 2 different times, was somewhat feral although she loved her foster she wasn't good with anyone else and LM wanted to know if she was going to be adoptable for anyone else. I kept her and she did come around even with me. She had 2 playmates too. Kittens I named Oreo and Bear.
