Blackie - Adopt me now

Blackie is an owner surrender, surrendered to Cindy.  I think the owner moved and had too many cats.  Blackie was good with the cats she lived with but now really doesnt like other cats much.   She did stress out with all the animals at Cindy's and took time to adjust to the new home just as you took some time to adjust to mine.  She didn't like being caged but got better about it and initially with the crowded house with lots of puppies would hiss a lot.  Once the puppies got adopted Blackie got to be a love bug wanting attention.  At my house she and Marilyn would hiss at each other but it wasn't any big conflict.  Marilyn doesn't really like other cats so I'm not sure who was really upset about the whole thing.

Oct 2014.  Blackie was adopted and then returned as she didn't get along with the female cat the owner already had.  She is a very sweet cat.  I think the other cat just didn't want her around.   She definitely will not do well with lots of animals?

Blackie will probably take a couple of days to adjust but she adjusted pretty well to being here in a different situation.

Cash - adopted

Cash is a big - 6 yr old -  17 lb love bug.  He was returned for litterbox issues but both Cindy and  have had no problem with him at all after several weeks.  He has been 100% faithful.  He does great with children.  The owner admits it might have been sparked by the presence of a dog.  Cindy took care of him for a multiple days and  that naughty behavior did NOT show up again.  He has a wonderful laidback personality.  The owner said if he didn't get what he wanted he would act up but I think she also didn't know how to discipline him and yielded to everything he wanted?

I would have confined him immediately if he'd been naughty.  He's been a perfect gentleman.  He got along great with Buju, a Pomeranian mix and would lie with him.  Unfortunately Cindy didn't take a picture.  Cats don't faze him, even when they are hissing at him.  Marilyn who doesn't like cats doesn't intimidate him in the least.

Great with kids

Suits Litter - adopted

Brooks, Prada, Versace and Gucci - the Suits Litter!
The Suits litter is named after the fact that they are all basically Tuxedos - Brooks (female grey and white Tuxedo, Prada (b/w female), Versace and Gucci - the two little boys.  Their Momma was a feral b/w female.  Trapped and TNR.  I got them when they were about 7-8 weeks old.    She was tested for FIV/FeLV and was negative and is back where she came from.  A little scared at first,  the kittens now love attention.  They came around in less than a week.  The two boys went to Mandy, another foster Mom and are now playmates to Wrigley another Tuxedo and a member of the Ballpark litter of which he is the last kitten.  His siblings Camden
and Fenway got adopted.

Brooks (for Brooks Brothers) (female)
3 Suits remaining - can you guess
 which is which?
Aug 5 -  Got a call from adopter of Gucci - who was renamed Fuzzy.  He died after his neuter operation.  We are still trying to identify the details.  The adopter may choose to adopt Versace.  We will neuter Versace as a precautionary measure before he is adopted.

July 5 - only Versace remains waiting for his forever home.  He is enjoying staying at Mandy's and playing with Augustus.

June 14 - A wonderful day for adoptions.  Prada is adopted.  Gucci adoption is going on right now!!!  Only one left is Versace!

June 10 - Prada has had a taste of the rest of the house and now thinks she owns it.  She met Pepper who jumped on the bed while I was holding her.  After they hissed ferociously at each other, Prada tried to climb over my back - yep she's ready for a nail trim.  The brothers are definitely more laid back than she is.

June 8 - Brooks was adopted today at Petco.  The remaining will be with me till at least Thursday
when Mandy's are out of quarantine.  At that point they MAY go to her house.  We shall see.

June 7 - Kittens adventure to Care-a-lot went well.  Good exposure and interest but no adoptions of thise however other fosters did get adopted - Ginger, Wrigley, Mason, and a puppy.

June 6 - Gucci loves to watch the going's on of the Hunt household.  He's too little to look through the door so he watches from his perch.  Brooks and Prada had some wet today along with the Miss Kitty.  Prada didn't see her own bowl and boldly went over to MK's bowl and started to eat out of hers.  Miss Kitty backed off and was just about to give a big swat to this young whippersnapper and foster Mom picked Prada up and put her in front of her bowl.  Then everyone was content - stuffing their faces LOL.  I wish I had my camera with me at that time.

June 5 -  Wrigley is teaching Gucci how to play with a feather and Momma Mandy's house.  I love Augustus' cocked head.  Hazel is the grey tabby.  All will be at Care-a-lot on Saturday June 7 from 10-1pm.  Hope we have some adoptions.

Wrigley - showing Gucci
how to play with feather

June 4 - Prada and Brooks got their panacure directly via syringe.  I couldn't trust them to eat all their wet but they did have wet to wash the taste out of their mouths.  yuck.  Miss Kitty had a time out since she swatted one of the kittens.  She's now out and about as are they?  btw where are they? they are awfully quiet.  Well I hear a hiss.  I guess MK knows where they are and bumped into one.

June 3 - late  Miss Kitty is confined.  The kittens wanted to play with her but she just growled and hissed at them.  The garage does NOT belong to her and they are just trying to be friendly.  Get over it Miss Kitty.  They aren't missing their brothers too much.
Enjoyed exploring and playing.   Worming day 2.

Prada (female)
June 3 - 1:30 pm - the two boys have gone to Mandy.   They now have Wiggly Wrigley to play with.  Okay - his name is Wrigley but I like to call him Wiggly Wrigley.  Actually Gucci is more wiggly at this stage.  You can pick him up.  He'll purr up a storm and then wiggles so you put him down.

June 3 - kittens on my lap.  they asked to be picked up.  yeah!!!  at least the 2 girls

June 2 pm - Fancy feast and Panacure... yummy... kittens ate it right up! day one of deworming. Hopefully they'll be already by Sat at Petco to be adopted!
Versace, Wrigly and Gucci
- all getting along over dinner.
colors on the help tell them apart

June 2 am- Brooks is ready to go.  She wants attention.  Meeows to be picked up.  Jumped up on my lap.  Prada is close behind.  The boys still flinch a little but they are coming around quickly.

June 1 - The kittens are coming along in being socialized.  They are
having fun playing - still more with each others than me.  Brooks likes to jump into the whirlpool and wants help out which of course I oblige her when she asks.  She can jump out, she just asks for help.  Brooks is definitely coming along the fastest.  None are running away as quickly.  She came to me and climbed up on my lap while I was holding Versace.  Looking good for next Saturday at Petco.

Gucci
May 30 - the cats got their first FVCRP shots and I think I've settled on names for them:

Brooks - big grey and white female
Prada - b/w female who also has a big patch of white in the middle of her face.
Versaci - b/w male who has a little patch of milk above his lip on the left side
Gucci - b/w male who has a little patch of milk above lip on the right side and the shyest of the litter.

May 28 - I got 4 kittens that I'm affectionately calling the Suits litter as they all seem to have Tuxedos.  Some a little better fitting than others.  One grey one with a tail that is bent over on itself.  A big medium hair female, 3 b/w tuxedos. They were trapped just a few days before and are 7-8 weeks old

Ariel - adopted

Ariel is a very sweet friendly people lover who was trapped as part of a TNR project.  She loves people but asserts herself with other cats and didn't particularly care for the kittens growling at them anytime they came close and one time taking off after one of them.  She is now up-to-date on vaccinations and will be at Petsmart for adoption.  Attempts to find her owner through NN Animal Services, Craigslist and inquiring of neighbors and landlord yielded no owner.  She has a cleft lip "flaw" which actually makes her even cuter.  She is about 5 years old.  She came to me all covered with burrs but cooperated very well with getting them removed.  I think her attempts to remove them resulted in her pulling out her own hair because there are areas on her back where the fur is pretty thin.

July 7 - I have had Ariel over a week.  One email response from Craigslist ad.  No calls from NN Animal Services to claim this sweet long-haired girl who was trapped up in Denbigh.

PETA confirmed that she was spayed before she had unnecessary surgery in contrast to Willow who had no scar and went through surgery all over again.  Both girls will be at Petsmart soon.

Charlie's Angels - ADOPTED

Bosley and the angels are very sweet friendly kittens that as of today are almost 11 weeks.  They are well socialized and looking for forever homes.  Interested? come see us at Care-a-lot on July 12 or contact me via facebook, google+ or email crlwsmn@gmail.com.  Doreen and Mandy are now fostering them - Bosley and Kelly are at Mandy's and Sabrina, Jill and Kris are at Doreen's.

July 7 - Doreen reports that Jill is the bossy one and the alpha and Sabrina and Kris are the laidback ones.  Kelly is the spitfire and Bosley is overwhelmed in the new situation they are in.  I know Kelly is glad to have Gus and Versace to play with and I'm sure Mandy will have Bosley out of his shell in no time.

July 7 - wierd not having any kittens but I think Willow and Ariel are glad to not have all the high energy activity.  Ariel growls at Willow but I told her no several times and she retreated to her favorite place under a table.

July 6, 2014 - Kris, Jill and Sabrina went to Petco.  None were adopted :-( but 3 other kittens were :-(.  Come see them July 12 at Care-a-lot!  Kris, Sabrina and Jill are with Foster Doreen and tomorrow Bosley and Kelly will go to Foster Mandy along with Augustus and Versace (one of the Suits litter). Augustus and Kelly especially had an absolute blast playing with each other.

July 5, 2014 - they all went to Care-a-lot.  They were very well behaved but none got adopted :-(  Afterwards Kris went to the same foster home as her siblings Sabrina and Jill.  All 3 will be at Petco on July 6, 2014.

July 3, 2014 - Sabrina and Jill went to Doreen another foster mom.

June 30,2014  My newest fosters.  Named by Cindy using characters from Charlie's Angels - 4 girls - one boys.  ope Farrah and the others aren't "offended" and are actually honored! LOL.  10 weeks .  Bday approximately April 23, 2014.

Willow - adopted

Willow is a very sweet female cat who loves attention.  She was abandoned at an apartment complex.  Noone claimed ownership and now she is looking for a forever home.  She'll be spayed on 7/16 and be available for adoption 7/23.  I plan to put her up at Petsmart once she has recovered from her surgery unless someone calls me and adopts her before she gets there.  She is great with children and is not perturbed by a cat who isn't as friendly as she is.  She asks for attention and will give you kisses and a bath.  My hands and arms have had a licking.  She'll be a great addition to a family.

July 8 - she went into Petsmart and I got a call that evening.  Finalized adoption on July 9.  Great home.

June 24 - sweet girl needed to come out as her incision site is red and perhaps a little swollen.  neosporin hopefully will do the trick.  I think she also had a reaction to Advantage as she has a bald spot where I applied it.  Pepper used to have a reaction to Revolution and a few times a year he'll get a bald spot there too.

June 17 - yesterday's surgery - no female sex organs found.  already spayed.  At one year old she must have been spayed early.  She now has a tattoo curtesy of PETA.  I'm a firm believer in tattoos.  She is doing great.  A little bruised from prodding and surgery but doing great.  One week from now she'll be up for adoption.

June 16 - surgery day for Willow.  You could hear her across the parking lot at Midtown meeowing as I filled out paperwork.  I had to wait for a line of dogs.  Something I haven't had to do in the past.  I brought her closer to the line with the door facing where all the dogs were.  She settled and relaxed just watching all the activity.  I think she'll be good in a house with either cats and/or dogs.  She has wanted to make friends with Marilyn but keeps her distance when Marilyn hisses at her.  Come see her at Petsmart NEXT week.  I hope to have her up there - space permitting on June 23.
Willow is definitely a licker.
okay - a selfie.  the best one I could get.

June 14 - Willow is a sweet cat.  She'll be spayed on Monday.  She loves affection.  She has earned garage privileges and has been out a couple of days off and on.  She doesn't react to Marilyn's hissing unless they are in close proximity and she'll hiss back.  I haven't had them both out loose together though.

June 10 - Willow came to me.  She is a stray abandoned by a renter.  Don't know if she is spayed or not.  The renter in fact doesn't claim ownership of her.  She's friendly.  A little traumatized at this point and getting settled.  She wasn't too happy to have to share the garage with rambunctious kittens which she just hissed at.  We'll make sure she gets spayed and then she'll go up for adoption!  I'll have at least a couple of weeks to get to know her better.
