Autumn - decided she would go outside.

My name is Autumn and I'm very friendly
but I am a torti so I can be moody!
Are those clippers for me?

Autumn - after a stay at Petsmart and then at Cindy's.  Cindy decided she wasn't going to be adoptable.  Too much work so she is now adjusting to a feral colony and the cats there.   I should find out how she is doing for the colony caregiver.  It's very nice that she had another option.

Autumn is a sweet long haired tortoiseshell stray that was rescued by Arden.  She's adjusting to a different life.  She likes heights.  She is enjoying the rafters in my garage.  She is definitely a torti with a torti temperament and will be best in a house with no other cats or dogs.  She doesn't have dog experience so maybe she'll adjust.  She tells other cats off and if she doesn't get her food fast enough she'll hiss and tell you she disapproves of your slowness.  She is full of life and play at 1 yr old.  She can jump really high after her favorite toy.  Exercising her with play helps a lot cause when she gets wound up she's apt to be more temperamental.

I definitely like to watch everything that goes
on.  I've got a great view from up here.

I love heights.  I've enjoyed being in the rafters

Do you want me to come down now?
if you feed me I'll be very happy to come down.

Sasha and Charlie - adopt us now

Charlie - yep  talking
Sasha and Charlie were trapped as ferals but they definitely aren't feral.  They will be put up for adoption but they can go back - but be outside where they were.  The owner has an elderly diabetic cat so these 2 can't go back in.    I thought they were mother and son then mother and daughter.  Sasha and Charlie are Charlie and Sasha.  Confused?  So was I.

Another female is Sweet Pea is not feral either and has been spayed and will be available soon.  I can't tell the difference between the Charlie and Sasha except for size.  Actually the M on Charlie is more pronounced.

Sasha is a major conversationalist and wants attention.  Charlie is now more laid back and enjoying HIS nice warm bed.  Sweet Pea I haven't seen yet but is a silver tabby.  I'll be updating this blog as soon as I get some pics uploaded.  Sasha has been hard to photograph because she is constant motion.

Charlie's tabby M on his forehead is a little better defined that his mom Sasha.  Sasha is a talker very friendly and a live wire.  Reminds me a little of Elmo although Elmo is more in your face.

  Sasha
Sasha cooperated very well with Cindy investigating her privates.  We were told she was a boy but the person who trapped her didn't investigate her privates.  I suspected girl because 1) her pee isn't pungent as boys are 2) she's not got the muscular physique that a 9 month old unaltered male would have 3) where are her male parts.  Her butt coloring made it hard to find if she was a he they are way to small for his age.

Moses -adopted

Moses is a black and white - almost a tuxedo.  He's declawed 11 years old and a very sweet cat.  His owner had a stroke and decided he and brother Odie (7 yrs old) were just too much to take care of?  They kept one cat - their favorite.  How much care do cats really take?  I wonder if it was just an excuse.  His age might make it more difficult to adopt.  He met Pepper and asserted himself sending Pepper jumping up on the cat tree out of reach.  A little of the old turn head and growl and each other.  He didn't like me spraying him and growled at me but he has recovered.  I guess he thinks a good defense is a strong offense.  Pepper has recovered from the introduction too.

2/1/2015 - He definitely has issues with other cats and keeps trying to go after Pepper.  Moses stresses himself out and Pepper isn't doing anything to instigate a conflict.  Pepper kinda looks at him from a distance as if to say - what is your problem.  Pepper knows I won't let Moses do anything to him.  I don't think either one knows that Moses is declawed.  Moses is trying very hard to use the scratching pad.

2/12. He has made himself right at home and has taken over the bed.

Elmo - adopted

Elmo is a sweet young very active male cat.  He is an owner surrender.  He has been surrendered 2x both dealing with issues with other cats.  He tends to be bossy.  The first time he went to a home with a female cat that the owners hadn't had a long time and I wonder if she was insecure and didn't like him for those reasons.  He wants to play all the time and drove her crazy.  Second adoption - there were 2 other cats.  I'm not sure of their ages but they got to the point they were scared of him.  He would take over all of their places and even "attack" them in the litter box.  He's doing fine with my 10 yr old Pepper who puts him in her place.   He loves attention and is underfoot and follows you around and will play with anything that is loose and moves.  He's a great cat and I miss it him already.  If he doesn't get adopted soon maybe I'll keep him.   But then that is one less cat that I can help.  Meanwhile I have Moses who is a real test for Pepper or the reverse.

.

Feb 1, 2015  Elmo is having diarrhea problems - bummer.  Pulled from Petsmart and back at foster Mandy's home where I'm sure he is having a blast.

Jan 16, 2015 I have had Elmo for 36 hrs.  He is doing great with Pepper who has placed him in his spot by bopping him on the head.  They both shared the bed.  Pepper warns him to stay away with growls which Elmo respects.  Elmo is a confident cat who either needs a home with no other cats but someone who will play with him a lot or other cats who are as active as him or who will put him in his place.  We'll see if I have him long enough to see the objectionable behavior.  I've been bossy with him.  I started our relationship by clipping his nails and he cooperated very well even though he was wiggly.  He was up early and playing with my feet.  I'm pretty sure Pepper's night was as normal and regular as it normally is as he was on the bed this morning when I woke up.  Pepper isn't intimidated by Elmo in the least.  Elmo tried to pester Pepper while Pepper was using the litter box yesterday.  He got swatted at and today when he tried to pester Pepper - he was totally ignored.   Elmo is on a special diet - grain free as he is gassy and farty.  I haven't seen his poops yet.

Opie - adopted

BunnESoft, Opie and Pumkin were surrendered by the daughter of their owner upon her untimely death.   Both BunnEsoft and Opie are front declawed.

BunnEsoft is about 4 yrs old and Opie is about 3 yrs old.  The owner had desired for both to find a home together but that is something we find very hard to do but we'll advertise the other if someone is interested in one or the other.  Pumkin needs work before he's adoptable.  More details follow

Opie
Opie is still grieving and is a little more shy.  He is a long haired orange tabby cat.  He's a little more timid than his brother BunnEsoft that has been adopted.  He's a BIG orange tabby cat about 13#.  He's a little shy but needs a lot of love and hands on attention to bring him out of his grief.  He's about 3 years old.

12/13 - he's at Petsmart and I hope he gets adopted quickly.

Pumkin is a feral who came in and didn't want to go back out.  He was good with the litter box and she let him stay in.  He's a scared cat.  I've made some progress and on 12/14 was finally able to pet him.  12/15 he's having his surgery and the challenge of getting him transfered from the cage to the transfer cage may have set me back with his socializing. He was very scared.  Poor thing.  I tried Brenda's technique to transfer him from the cage to the transfer cage.  Didn't work - he was just petrified and didn't want to move.  The transfer cage would not fit in the cage.  Finally threw a towel over him and scruffed him.  I'm hopefully with a couple more weeks of hands on he'll become adoptable.  If not I hope to find a barn for him.

BunnEsoft is very very friendly and sweet buff long haired tabby waiting for a forever home and is at Petsmart (12/8).  He loves attention and to be petted and brushed.  He's an in-your-face lover. BunnEsoft is about 4 years old, a neutered male, tested negative FIV/FeLV and current on all his shots.  BunnEsoft was on 12/13/2014.  I hope Opie finds a home quickly.  He went to a home with a couple of small dogs and a cat.  I hope Opie finds his forever soon quickly

Pumkin is a feral who came in the house one day and never wanted to go back out.  He's good about using the litter box inside and when invited to go back out he didn't want to.  We'll try to work with him and get him available for adoption.  If not he'll eventually have to go out when it is warmer.  It might be a barn instead of a colony.

Pumkin will be neutered as a feral package on PETA van on 12/15.  The owner had wanted to socialize him to the point of being able to take him to the van.  I'll let PETA estimate his age which I'm guessing is about 7 months.
